Nanjing, December 1, 2023 - Mr. Wu Wenhao, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of IF-CSHE, delivered a lecture at Hohai University upon the invitation of Mr. Zhang Yang, Dean of the Institute of World Water Resources. The lecture, titled "A Wider Road, A Longer Belt, The Exciting Next Decade: Achievements and Prospects of Hydropower Development in China",was attended by young teachers and graduate students and chaired by Mr. Huang Dechun, Executive Dean of the Institute of World Water Resources.

In his presentation, Wu Wenhao delved into the profound changes witnessed globally over the past century, including geopolitical shifts, industrial transformations, and responses to climate change. He underscored the pivotal role of hydropower in navigating the transition towards carbon neutrality amidst ongoing global energy transformations.

Leveraging his extensive experience, Wu Wenhao showcased China's notable accomplishments in hydropower development, illustrating the country's journey and internationalization efforts in this field. He closely analyzed President XiJinping's eight proposed actions to bolster high-quality Belt and Road Initiative construction, elucidating their significance as articulated during the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Throughout the lecture,hehighlighted the pivotal position of China's hydropower sector in the global energy transition and its contributions to advancing the Belt and Road Initiative. He encouraged students to explore opportunities within the hydropower and clean energy sectors, envisioning their participation in fostering global green energy transformation and sustainable development.
